Innkeeper Henri Landwirth (Holiday Inn Cocoa Beach) sits with a 700 pound cake that was made just prior to the January 27, 1962 attempt to launch John Glenn. Landwirth was faced with how to preserve the cake until the mission actually took place.

NASA Legends Awarded Congressional Gold Medal

Leaders of Congress honored astronauts John Glenn, Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins with congressional gold medals in a ceremony in the Capitol Rotunda on Nov. 16, 2011. Above is Neil speaking at the ceremony.
